Thermodynamics

Did you know there's a difference between heat and temperature? Heat is just thermal energy and temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy in something. It's true!

Project 365

I've decided to have a totally new kind of blog - a photoblog where I take a picture every day for the whole year. It's been done before, but it's a bit of a challenge, sticking with it and all for a whole year. But I'm up for it.

Here's where I got the idea: http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/

SCIENCE!

I've been busily working on my science homework today. It's all about thermodynamics. How fun could that possibly be!?

It's... interesting. But I wouldn't call it fun.

I updated my desktop a bit. It looks almost like a Mac, but it has a start menu at the top. Here is a wonderful screenshot:

Nearing the End

With only a couple more days till the new year, this blog's life shortens. I heard somewhere that all good things must come to an end, although I really don't know how good this turned out. True, I was able to stick to a blog for an entire year, which I feel proud of. Maybe next year I'll do something a little more simple, like make my Tumblelog my main work.

It's almost time for me to watch a movie with the family. Christmas was great, but it's over. Lots of things to do before January 1st. I'm going to clean out my pictures file, saving any retired pics to a disk. I've also developed a rather large collection of cats. It just shows that I've been spending too much time on www.ilovemeow.com.

Time to go! Let's hope we get to 100 posts by the end of the year.

A White Christmas

IT'S SNOWING! WHOA! I didn't actually imagine a white Christmas this year. Here's a picture:

Snow

How awesome can this be?

Almost Christmas

Hey! It's Christmas Eve, so I'm a little excited about tomorrow. My grandparents are here, and we're expecting someone else too for dinner. Will I even be able to fall asleep tonight?

And as a treat: http://swfup.com/file/91664

Merry Christmas!

December Snow

It's December 1st and it has snowed about an inch overnight. It's was pretty cool to see all that snow this morning, but it's all gone by now.

Oh how I wish for a white Christmas.

On Vacation... Again.

This post was from Thanksgiving, but I forgot to post it. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm here in lovely Birch Bay for Thanksgiving. My grandparents are here too, so we were all one big happy family two days ago. I'm wondering if it's snowing right now at home. if it is, maybe there'll be no school next Monday!

I'm busy learning my Spanish. It's a pretty interesting language. I can say most of the numbers, what my classes are at school, tell time... It's pretty cool.

Ok gotta go! Time to check out some stuff at the incredibly tiny beach nearby.

Almost Forgot...

Writers Block

Don't you hate it when you can no longer thing of anything? I am required by my Honors English teacher to type the first to paragraphs of an essay on The Odyssey. My prompt is to discuss the virtue of hospitality, or in essence those who honor or abuse the virtue. So far, I've come up with my basic outline.

  • Intro ¶
  • Body ¶ on Cyclops Inhospitality
  • Body ¶ on King Aeolus Hospitality, then Inhospitality
  • Body ¶ on Circe Inhospitality, then Hospitality
  • Possible Body ¶ on Penelope?
  • Concluding ¶

It seems so simple. But coming up with just the right lead-in for the intro is hard... What in the world should I do?

The problem is is that I am incredibly hindered here. Not able to include "I," "you," fragment sentences. He is a teacher that goes by the rules. *pull hair*

So, hopefully posting this blog will get the edge off of my acute writers block. I need some way to come up with new ideas. And fast.

Oh, did I mention that this is all due tomorrow???

I'm Addicted to the Impossible Quizzes

Well, yesterday I was. I don't know what came over me! I won the second Impossible Quiz, and I started to go nuts! I wanted to make my own, but how can you without Flash? I wanted to come up with questions, but I couldn't! I felt like I had no more purpose for my life. Wow, Splapp-Me-Do, that was some day yesterday.

Guess what time it is...

You're right! It's time to study Spanish likes and dislikes! Ta-ta

Oh, I know you want to.

Go, Go, Web 2.0! 490 Sites...

I found a site that I think is pretty cool. It's called the Web 2.0 Company Name Generator. Who knows... I might use some of the names it generates. The site's at http://www.lightsphere.com/dev/web20.html. I got this new macro program, so I was able to generate 490 names and put them all on one big list. So, without further adieu or however it's spelt...

Lol, High School

Well hello there! It appears that there has been quite a change since I've last posted. I've survived my first day of High School Physical Education. Ouch.

So, hi. I'm posting this in a different way this time, and I'm wondering how it will work. If you know about Windows Live Writer, then you know what I'm using to do this. Yay.

The planner I use for high school is smaller than my one from last year, which is nice. It's more portable.

Right now I've finished my science homework and need to do the following:

  • Read a few pages on Greek Mythology: Gods and Goddesses. Take notes.
  • Oh yeah. That's it.

That makes me happy! :)

But next Wednesday I have PE again.

That makes me sad. :(

Well, good luck to me! Bye!

HOLY CARP! New iPod Generation!

I just saw them and I have to say, I'm pretty blown away. Steve Jobs and the whole crew at Apple really did something amazing. This makes the Zune look like it's from the 90's. Sorry, Microsoft; I'm all Apple. And I'm thinking that a Nano is the perfect b-day present. Only 3 months to go!
Check out the new iPod generation here. Shuffle, Nano, Classic, Touch, and so much more.

First Day...

Guess what? It's the very, very, very first day of school. This year, I'm going to high school. So, a whole new selection of classes for me to enjoy, or not. A lot of new stuff to worry about. Ahh, school.

No one reads this blog anymore, I'm like in a world of non-existence. So, this blog is more of a journal for me to look back on in the future, to laugh at my stories and see what I was like back then. I'm thinking about quiting blogging at the end of this year; things are getting too hectic. I can better handle something like Twitter of Tumblr. A full-force blog, not so much. So, I might restart some time later, but I know at the end of this year, I'm stopping.

I'm going to have to leave soon, so I better go and get to school. Bye bye!

WOO! COMPUTERMANIA!

Over the past couple of weeks, my computer had been acting very strangely. One example was when I went into Windows Movie Maker and dragged a video clip to the timeline, I saw the Blue Screen of Death and my computer restarted. Here's a video.

So I completely reinstalled the system, refreshed everything, and now everything is peachy. Mmm... Peaches.

Speaking of which, I had this really good peach lemonade. It was so good... Yum.

I'm working on a new video for YouTube. It's a time lapse that shows time going by and other things happen at incredibly fast speeds. I'll give you a little sneak peek here.

So... I'll see ya later! And don't forget: eat lots of pound cake to become big and strong!

Tumbling Into Action!

Guess what? I've decided to get my name out there not with just a blog, but a tumblelog! A tumblelog is something that makes my ears tingle just by the mentioning of it. It's like a scrapbook, bits of information, like quotes, images, conversations, and hyperlinks, all put together into this massively cute deal. I'm using the popular service called Tumblr, and my tumblelog is right here at singularlyplural.tumblr.com. There isn't anything there yet... I'm planing on starting it when I get home from this vacation. I can't tell you where I am, because if I did, I would have to kill you. I'm just kidding. I'll give you a clue: I'm in a house, typing on a seriously slow computer. The house is one of my relatives, actually two of them, and we went out for teriyaki earlier today. YAY!

Dream, Dream, Dream, Dream...

Last night, I tried keeping a dream journal. I actually woke up and remembered it, so I started jotting it down as quickly as possible. Here's what I game up with:

Garage Nightmare:

I'm watching a video game played by someone who's face I don't see. It's upstairs in the TV and exercise room. The game reminds me vaguely of Super Paper Mario, a game I actually have. In the game, the landscape is mostly made out of wood. The character in the game is at the tallest floor of a building when he collects a weapon: some type of spiky clover-leaf thing. A wooden catapult takes you to a secret floor above the supposed "highest" floor, but actually isn't a floor at all. It's a catwalk with various enemies on it. The enemies are red, spiky things that open their mouths and bare their teeth at you when they see you.
I hear this loud bang from downstairs, and my mom says that the cinnamon rolls in the microwave are burning. I race downstairs to the kitchen to find that they're fine, but I get my hands all over them and get all messy and sticky. I hear more bangs, and realize it's coming from the garage. I run into the laundry room and try to carefully crack the door open, but it is already open and I ram into the door loud enough for anyone in the garage to hear. I hear banging and lock the door frantically, while my brother, who's nearby in the family room watching TV, says that he's scared. I never actually saw my brother, and it's then that I wake up in a cold sweat at around 6 in the morning.

So there's my dream in two paragraphs, as much as I can remember. I'm going to keep recording my dreams and see how they correspond to my life.

Kyle: Now a Twitter-er and Contact User!

So, I got started using Twitter, and I now have contacts. It's really strange putting things on your eyes. But they work pretty good. And as for Twitter, I need to think of things to do, so I can type them down and send them off to the world. How exciting is that?

I'm thinkin' about adding my video to this magical Gmail video here. I need to get that in by August 15th. What I need to think of is how to approach it. Should I just pass it from left to right, or do something incredibly creative?

I'll settle with creative.

Yowza!

This week my family and I went on vacation to a lake. Today's the last full day we'll be here. I have three funny stories to share with you, so sit back, grab the popcorn, and enjoy.

WRAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Yesterday while my family was enjoying a warm sunny day in our hotel room, my dad got up to get something out of the fridge, and when he closed it, the smoke alarm on the wall nearby the fridge went off. It never stopped, and sounded faint, at least quiet enough to be annoying, but not able to wake someone up. We called the maintenance guy to come down and try to get it to turn off. We were thinking that maybe someone in the other room burnt popcorn and the alarms weren't wired right. So the guy is there, trying to fix it, and I go with my mom downstairs to get ice. When we came back up, the alarm had stopped! We found that the maintenance guy found the sound was coming from the buzzer inside the box of the game we brought: Taboo. It was stored on top of the fridge and when my dad closed it, it jostled the box just enough to keep the buzzer going off constantly. We were pretty embarrassed.

Seagulls
At the park this afternoon when we were eating a meal of french fries, burgers, and a hot dog, we noticed the annoying chirps and squeals of the seagulls that were nearby. I had an idea. I took a french fry and threw it by the seagulls. Instantly, every single seagull in the park started swarming towards that one fry, fighting and flying, making even louder sounds. It was too funny.

An Unusual Sight
I was taking video in that same park this afternoon, when I stumbled upon a little toddler probably 1 or 2. He was really cute, waddling in his suit and following me. I ran over to my brother to tell him to come back closer to where our parents were. As I was walking back. I noticed that same boy by the trash can with a bare bottom, throwing his suit and diaper in the trash! I was dumbfounded. The mother of the toddler came over and carried the boy in his birthday suit over to the table for a new diaper, and she reached into the trash can to get the indecomposable suit. Later, I was walking by when the lady's eyes met mine, full of embarrassment. I had to turn away to hide my laughter.

THE END!
(For now...)

I Bit the Bullet

Hey kids! Guess what?

I got a YouTube account!

WHOOPEE!

Yeah, so I'm going to actually post videos on YouTube and see what people think of them for a change. Because no-one looks at videos on Google Video... I just hope no one hates what I post. I feel like I'm going to be hated. HATED!

Hmm... What should I post first? There's my two time-lapse videos. There's also that wonderfully-idiotic video of me and my two friends. And then there's the strange Monopoly Ad...

I'll go with the idiotic one.

A Total Mess

I'm changing my email address. I've signed up for many services, including here at Blogger, so it's going to be fairly hard getting all this rearranged. I can only access the template code for this blog on my old email address, so I think this blog will last for a year, and then I'm switching to a new blog. I hate being in the middle of a transition, so I hope to be all done with this by tomorrow. AGH! SO MUCH TO DO!

Jul 13, 2007

Read. Turn Page. Read More. Turn Page Again.

Reading is fun. Reading is good for your brain. Reading is a good way to relax. Reading is a great way to get caught up in your imagination. Reading is...is...

Oh, hi! I can't come to the site right now, please leave a message after the beep.

Beep.

OK, enough nonsense.

Nonsensical stuff makes me feel wobbly.

Nonsensical stuff makes me.

AGH! MY HEAD!

Ok, so I got braces a few days ago. They hurt. Really bad. It's getting hard to eat; I have to cut everything with a knife because I can't bite with my front teeth without going "AHH! OW!" My friend Alex never called, so I never went to his house to tutor him. He said maybe the first week of school, just to refresh his memory.

I need to read now. I just don't feel all that good.

Math Headache

Tomorrow I'm going to my friend Alex's house to tutor him in all that we learned last year. He was upset with his grade, and he asked me to tutor him, so I said yes and now I've been slaving away at a hot keyboard creating his diagnostic test. I finished about an hour ago, and I think it focuses on the majority of topics we've learned. I just hope that tomorrow when I come he won't be all like "Hey wanna go make a video? Let's play some Flight Simulator X! Let's play laser tag! OH WAIT LET'S TIE UP MY BROTHER!" I have to feel sorry for Christian, but Alex is usually kidding about stuff like that though. So wish me luck there.

So, right now I'm listening to some Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and typing my blog post. Mom's gone to the store to get something, my brother's upstairs playing the Wii, and I really want to get back to reading this amazing book. 500-some-pages I think. And it's the 6th one in the series I think. Anyways, I think I'll do that now.

7/7/07

Happy Lucky 7 Saturday people! I day like this deserves some decluttering, so why not declutter your digital life here?

I was at a nearby Art Walk yesterday. There were so many cool things to see! I displayed some of my work too at the senior center. There was a mariachi band at the nearby Mexican restaurant, filling the air with cultural paraphernalia.

So I'm feeling happy and lucky today. It's really an honor to live during 7/7/07, a date that only comes once every hundred years or so. I do have a cold, which made this day a little boring and...gross. I've had it for a week and it just won't go away!

OK, I'm finding it hard to get stuff to talk about. Did you hear about how this one company supposedly created "free energy?" Turns out there hasn't been a working demonstration yet. Steorn just either has to get to work or admit it's a flop. My opinion on whether tearing the laws of physics is possible or not is fairly unbiased. I want free energy to be true, but it might not, but it's possible they could have done it, but they might have not, but...see? A never-ending cycle.

Time to play Yahtzee! I'm feeling lucky!

Still Sick

I never went to sleep last night. I remember looking at the clock and seeing that it was one in the morning. Hopefully I will be better by tomorrow. This is a little slow because I'm typing from my Nintendo Wii. I might post later, but I can't guarantee that.

Sore and Blue

I don't feel so good: a cliché used by so many who aren't feeling so good. I'm one of these people at the time. this afternoon I started to develop a sore throat...and sore arms from Wii Boxing. A creepy aura is filling the house. My brother's upstairs, no one's on any instant messaging service at this time, and I really don't have anything I can do with this ache.

There was one thing I wanted to try, but now the chances are slim. I wanted to try out this Instructible on making a green screen (also called a chroma key). I have this blue sheet lying on the ground beside me, but I just don't feel like getting the camera and doing it. Maybe tomorrow; I do have the whole summer.

It's crazy! I don't feel like doing anything I wish I was doing right now, if that makes sense to you. I don't want to read, don't want to play video games, don't want to watch TV, don't want to film a chroma key experiment, and don't want to type. But I'm doing that, and might as well continue.

Let's check the latest tech news. Hmm... Engadget has recorded an HD interface walk-through of the iPhone, Kodak blew up one of it's buildings to spark the new digital print age, and there's now a feud between Google and Michael Moore with his new movie, "Sicko." Ain't this some interesting news?

I'm going to rest now. Just relax and recooperate.

Aviary: Creation on the Fly

Something that's crossed my radar is this amazing suite of online creation tools that is just plain amazing. I can't wait for this stuff to come out! But unfortunately, the ETA is not even set yet, if ya know what I mean. Keep your eye on this. It's surely one site that's gonna soar.

A Short Note About Stupidity

This video was created a while back, I won't say who of the three people I was, but I was holding a camera at the time.

Too Much To Type

Sorry for not posting in a while. I got caught up in the end of school and just never had any time. But now that it's over, I can rest, relax, and take up coding XHTML.

It's time you heard the news. Last Thursday, we finally got the Wii. I was elated with happiness and magic from the point of touching the box to taking it out and booting it up for the first time. It was an amazing experience. I just wish I got a game I wished to have. Zelda is OK, my brother has gone crazy over it, but I was wanting something...simpler.

Anyways, I've finally started this blog up again and plan on keeping it running for a while. Wish me luck!

So Much New Stuff!

Over the past ten days, I've found sites that have blown me away. Now I will share them with you...

  • Windows Live Search Club - Play games to earn prizes (Authentic!!!) all the way to an Xbox 360. This ain't no contest...it's earning tickets to get music downloads, tshirts, games, and maybe even a Zune. I'm trying to earn up to Flight Simulator X.
  • Cameroid - Turn you web cam into a photobooth with iChat-style features.
  • You Win! - A magical adventure!

Sweet Relief

I've finally completed this super-huge science project PowerPoint Presentation. It is just plain huge! All that's left is printing out the note cards.

Anyways, how's it going? *Crickets chirp* I really don't think I'm getting anywhere. Fine...may I point your attention to www.ilovemeow.com?

Lots of funny cats! Oh so nice!

Sorry, that's all I got right now.

Later.

Easy Motivation

Motivation can be hard to create when doing something you don't want to do. This could be work at your job, work from school, exercise, or even chores and tasks like mowing the lawn or taking our the trash. Whatever that task is, it's good to have some sort of reward in order to get yourself going. For example, I had to do some homework today. My reward was a bar of Hershey's. A quarter for Algebra, a quarter for Science, a quarter for Social studies and a quarter for Writing. I'm halfway though the bar. So, whenever you feel like putting something off, do it and reward yourself for your astounding self-control!

Internet Time Travel Made Simple

FutureMe.org is a great site where you can send an email to yourself with a delayed timer so it can be send days, months, weeks, or years from now. Imagine in 5 years getting an email from yourself from the past. You can see that things have really changed in that amount of time. Questions will be answered and greater knowledge is gained. So try it out. It's easier than sending an email to yourself in the past.

I Got Joost! And Happiness!

Thanks to some of my wonderful friends at the FilmCow Forums, I got Joost and now I got invites! There's lots of cool channels. My brother's favorite is Transformers, and mine is Guinness World Records. They had 16 cars ride on only two wheels all at once!

There are a lot of things I'm happy about. Here are some right now out of the blue:

  • School ends in one month, nine days
  • High School Musical 2 will be coming out shortly
  • I don't have any more homework this week
  • Three words: National Bingo Night
  • The Dancing With the Stars finale is this week
  • I just went to a birthday party and played laser tag
  • I'm on the verge of fixing this bug in my computer that disables the DirectX
  • I'm on the verge of getting a Wii
  • Happy Happy Happy
  • Joost (duh!)
I hope you're happy. And I mean it.

Psst! Get Joost here!

Whoosh! A Wikipedia Compeditor

I just found out that a new project has been started. It's called the Encyclopedia of Life. Check out the video. Basically this project is coming out to the public mid-2008. It will feature a page for every known species (hopefully). I gotta go now.

Happy Mother's Day!

Total Crazyness...Internet TV!

This week's been pretty busy. Aside from school though, I've been surfing and finding cool stuff. I'll be posting hopefully daily now.

So I want to focus on one popular hype of this month: Joost. Joost is a new Internet Television service that is rumored to be available to the public very, very soon. there's a wide variety of channels, including National Geographic, MTV, Comedy Central, and Channel Frederator. This is gonna be good. Keep an eye out for Joost's launch.

Art Club Fun! Painting Fun! Blogging Fun! Forum Fun!

I strongly regret not posting for the last few days. I've been busy with the Art Walk, homework, and reading. But I'm back!!! I think.

The Art Walk was pretty fun last Friday. I saw all kinds of artwork and got good comments about mine. Art's really something I enjoy. I'll share some of my stuff in a little while. In the mean time, I'm gonna talk about poems.

Poetry's cool.

There. I said it.

Anyways, I'm getting info about the Civil War shoved down my throat. I have to admit it's slightly intriguing, but not "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" intriguing.

Guess what? I'm really going to talk about poetry now! Woohoo!

So we're doing a poetry unit in school right now. "Okay, cool," you say. But inside you're thinking "I hate poetry." If you're not, I congradulate you. Here are some of my most recent poems. I hope they're good enough for your eyes.

Space

What is space like?
A vast emptiness?
As empty as the unlit moon?
As empty as a thief’s soul?
The stars in the sky surround me in the night
Little spotlights all focused on me…
As if I were some sort of center of the universe

Troublesome Trouble

Don’t trouble trouble until trouble troubles you
Many times I have heard this
The only thing is that trouble hasn’t troubled me yet
So I haven’t troubled trouble and
I don’t plan on troubling trouble for a long time
I may never trouble trouble
Because what has trouble done to me?

Paper

A blank sheet of paper can hold many mysteries
With pencil in hand, I form curves and delicate patterns
For many to behold
Cross-hatching and shading
Astonishing details
And while specific angles continue the realism,
Depth’s illusion runs rampant
Across this thin sheet of bleached wood.
In reality, a sheet of paper is a window into the imagination
For people to observe and admire and think,
“Now that’s a pretty picture.”

Language

One day language spoke out to me
I used to just know it was free
I learned it persuades
And gives me good grades
I consider it now as a key

Tada!

Also this is a really cool forum, created by the animator and voices of Charlie the Unicorn. It's snazztastic! http://www.filmcow.net/forums/

P.S. The title bar at the top of the window in the forum changes every week or so. 640!!!

Cool Download: Yod'm 3D (Windows)

As crazy as the name of this program is, Yod'm 3D is one of the coolest and usable programs I've found. It allows you to manage four desktops at once. You can shift through these desktops like a rotating cube, allowing you to have way more workspace than you've ever thought. It's simple and easy to use, and I highly suggest trying it out. YOD'M 3D ROCKS THE HOUSE!

I Heart Web 2.0

Web 2.0 sites rock. I love all of dem. Sites like Kyte, Zude, Piczo, Blogger, Wikispaces, YouTube...they all rock so much. I wish I could use them all! One of the sites I like that organizes all well-known Web 2.0 sites is Go2Web20.net. And sites are added all the time. You can browse them, see reviews on them, organize them by tag... This is one of the best sites out there.

Time for school!

53 is a Wonderful Number

I believe I'm getting a terrible cold. My throat started burning yesterday and now it's more agitated than ever.

So what's going on with you? I'm doing fine. No homework thankfully. I have some drawings to sketch and books to read. For my school's art club, I'm making this drawing of a hand. I'm not sure what to do with it. Maybe make it reach from a pile of snakes, or a sheet of paper, or some other thing. Gotta decide by tomorrow. Then I can make money off my work! That's the cool thing about it.

Life's gone on. I've listened to more podcasts, eaten a bunch of granola bars, and have spent much of my time finding more sites with StumbleUpon. That site rocks.

Agh. I'm feeling worse. Better rest my eyes now. Time to lie in bed and sleep away this illness.

My Bad...

Sorry about forgetting to post the last few days. School's started back up and I've gotten more stuff to do. We're doing some state-wide testing called the WASL, which is tedious and probably the most intimidating test I've ever taken. We did the Science WASL today, and it was hard. Some stuff we had never ever gone over so I had to just guess. I hate short and long answer questions. If only everything was multiple choice. What if all your decisions in the world were multiple choice, like some sort of box popped up every time you needed to make a decision. A list of options for your life. Hmm... Ponder that.

I think I'm gonna switch to Firefox. I'm actually typing this post in Firefox. I've had it, but I've never used it much. There are lots of useful things. Themes, styles for web pages to remix a few things, simple tabbed browsing, versatile toolbars, it's all great.

Finally done with that algebra. It's not due till Friday, so I'm happy. See my happy dance. Oh. That's right. You can't. Oh well. TTYL!!!

Home At Last, and Web Cam Fun!

I'm finally home and safe. My grandfather will hopefully be okay, though he may need a wheelchair for the rest of his life. That's sad because he walks a lot. You should have seen how long he walked on the beach.

I've taken an interest in web cam games. You may have heard of EyeToy for PS2. I found a free alternative on the web. Sites like Newgrounds have web cam games. There are some you can download too. Just search "web cam games" in Google and you should find some choices. The only requirement: a web cam (DUH!). So I've been getting lots of exercise.

I'm done typing now. Time to get going with WEBCAM MANIA!

I Don’t Know What To Feel…

This is another blog post for today. Another. It’s an emergency blog post, if you will. Roughly thirty minutes ago, my 82-year-old grandfather collapsed on the floor and started shaking, mumbling utter nonsense. My dad and Grandma helped keep him on his knees and stay still. He continued to babble and struggle against my grandma and dad. A minute passed, and he had stopped shaking. 911 had already been called, and soon enough more than a dozen people were in the cramped condo, including us. A few tests were taken, jokes were exchanged (ironically), and I stood behind Grandpa as he reported the symptoms: a buzzing in his head, everything blurry and moving around in his vision, and not many other noticeable things. Information was written in a notepad. The directions to the hospital were mentioned. So much happened in those thirty minutes that I remember. Soon Grandpa was lifted and placed in a wheelchair, causing him to feel really dizzy and lightheaded. It caused him to puke. Thankfully, there was a garbage can under him and I wasn’t looking. But still, I can smell that horrid stench in this room. I believe I have emetophobia, or fear of tossing the cookies. Sorry to make this post sound a little more cheery, though there are many, many ways to say “puke.” Continuing on with my grandpa, he was whisked away to the hospital with Grandma. Welcome to now, where I’m trying to get Internet to post this. Yes, I’m typing this in a Word document. I’m definitely not going to sleep tonight. (Sigh) We at first think he had a stroke or some sort of seizure, but it’s possible it was some sort of reflex or something…I can’t remember the name of it, but it was a highly scientific term.

One little joke:
When they were testing Grandpa, they were asking him questions like “How old are you?” “Is that your wife?” “When was your anniversary?” That third question was posed and a conversation started about when everyone got married and how some couldn’t remember the year. Then I heard this:

Medic 1: Yeah, I got married right before 9-11.
Medic 2: So because you married, you threw the whole universe off balance.
Medic 3: (Examining Grandpa) Yeah, he’s a little off balance.
(Chuckles float around the room…Yeah, I know, it’s a little lame, but the way it was spoken just makes you laugh.)

ANOTHER UPDATE: We just got a phone call and we now know it was a stroke.

Movie Madness and a Wet Beach

Sorry about yesterday. I never got an Internet connection yesterday and couldn’t post. A lot has gone on since then. I’ve been to the beach numerous times, seen two more movies (“Are We There Yet” and The “Day After Tomorrow”), and I’ve been to an all-you-can-eat buffet where I almost threw up :-P. We’re going to the beach for the last time before we leave tomorrow. My jaw hurts from chewing on beef jerky. Oh! Time to go! I’ll update later.

UPDATE:
The beach was cool. The tide was at its lowest yet. So we could go really far out! The only downside was the wailing, rishing wind and piercing rain. The journey down to the beach was fine, and we looked for lots of agates, but when we got back, there were winds so powerful, it caused sandstorms, and the rain drenched my coat. So much for waterproof.

When I got back I had a running nose, sand in my socks, shows, face, and pockets (I have no clue how it got in my socks and pockets), and I couldn't feel my hands. It's still a little hard to type right now. This has been perhaps the worst day we've been here.

Okay. It's time to get caught up now with the Internet. Taking time off has had an effect on me. Here's a question to think about until tomorrow (hopefully). Why does it rain so much in Oregon and not so much in other areas on the west coast? I mean, this is worse than Seattle. Go figure.

That's a Tall Lighthouse

I am bored. Bored. Bored. Bored. I'm probably going to mess with the camera soon, but I just thought I'd get this blog post out of the way. I found the ideal place in the condo that I can get Internet access from, so it's not really a huge hassle though. And now to continue with a summary of TODAY!

  • Another comfortable night. I tried listening to some stuff on my mp3 player in bed, but the batteries went dead five minues after I turned it on. Dissapointing.
  • When I got up, I was fairly tired and wanted my mommy. Just kidding. I just wanted to make sure you were alert. Anyway, my brother was barely awake and I roused him (the fun part in my day).
  • We had breakfast, watched TV, my Mom went to the doctor, I watched a movie, then we wne to the lighthouse nearby. I got a few pictures of it. Here's one:

  • We then went to the pool for about an hour. Now we're here and I'm sitting upstairs on a chair typing.

Short and brief, but that'll have to do. My brother wants to use my laptop right now. Later.

I Need a Gorgonzola (Don’t Ask)

This will probably the only post in my blog where the title has no relation to the detail in the post. I’m just going to talk about my friends now and what they do that make them…them. My friends Erik and DJ have all sorts of cool ideas. They made up this cool game called Waging War, have designed cool PowerPoint animations, and play a game or two of Improvised Jeopardy, where you can suggest instead of “Famous Poetry for $800,” “Magical Sticky Tape for Aaron’s nose.” It is one fun game to play. And don’t even get me started on Mr. Chub Chub, the Confederation of Furry Creatures (CFC), and the demonic Mr. Snuggles. “Randomosity” reigns in the land of DJ, Erik, Aaron, and company. You gotta love it.

So what else should I talk about? Hmm… My night was weird. I fell asleep at like 11, then I woke up around 7 today. I tried accessing the Web one last time, and thankfully, it works! So I’m happy today this wonderful Easter morning. My mother is going to set up an egg hunt, but that’s mostly for my brother. I want to have breakfast, but I’m at risk at losing my Internet access by moving the laptop only a few inches. Guess that’s a risk I’ll have to take. See ya!

Oh, and One Last Thing

Happy Easter!

Oregon: Is It Really What It’s Cracked Up To Be?

I’m on vacation in Oregon, and unfortunately, my wireless Internet goes on and off haphazardly. So every time I want to use the Internet, I have to take my laptop to the main building, so my posts will possibly be delayed by a day or so. So I’m typing all my posts in a Word document and I’m going to paste one each day into Blogger! Yay! Anyway, about Oregon: Newport, Oregon is rainy and wet. At least for today. I want to see how the weather is in the summer. Then I won’t have to use prejudice towards this city. We’re staying in a condo right next to the ocean and we’re spending most of the time inside. It can sometimes be a little boring, but I find ways to make things interesting. So here’s a rundown of today…

  • In the morning I got up around 7:30 and felt unbelievably tired. My brother is the one who disturbs me, of course. I managed to get out of bed and get dressed, and by around 9 we were ready to go.
  • In case you didn’t know, I live in Washington. So the trip is roughly four hours long from my home to Newport. I brought along the ordinary: my laptop, mp3 player, two books, and some DVD’s to pass the time. The only problem was the battery running out. So we ended up stopping at Radio Shack to buy a $30 adapter to plug my laptop into the cigarette lighter. It worked very nicely!
  • Hours pass, a movie is watched, a few chapters of Alex Rider are read, and episode of Knoxkast Radio is listened to, and we finally reach our destination. My legs are stiff, although we did stop at a Burger King earlier, and we first see Grandma waving at us on a balcony high up in one of the condos. So we run up and get acquainted with our home that we’ll be living in for the next four days and finally are settled.
  • I get my laptop set up and I become thrilled that I get wi-fi in our room. I use it for a while, but then instantly after ten minutes, the Internet turns off and I can no longer access it no matter where I am.
We have a dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, and broccoli. I become stuffed and go up to the one room upstairs: my bedroom.
  • Boredom starts to set in and I start messing with the video camera and some paper coasters. I become crazed about the coasters and how their curvy edges interlock into each other. I plan on making a coaster montage when I get home. Serious.
  • I get cookies and bring them upstairs, eating them in front of the camera. I’m seriously becoming delusional here. But I manage to eat all the cookies and rest on the bed.
  • We plan on going to the beach, only to get there and have it start pouring down rain lightly but in vast quantities. The sand here is a brownish tan. We have grayish sand back in Washington. Plus their beaches are a lot cleaner. It sort of forms a scale. Washington has messy beaches, Oregon is intermediate, and California is perfect. That’s what you get with the equator.
  • We come back to find that Grandma and grandpa came back before us, and I do some more stuff and keep trying continuously to get my connection back. To no avail, of course.
We decided to go to the pool. We observed it earlier, and it was murky. But we thought it was okay so we went in for about an hour and then became tired. We came back and got back into our clothes.
  • When we got back from the pool, Castaway was on (that movie with Tom Hanks) and we watched the last half of it.
  • Welcome to now. I’m typing on my laptop while Grandpa, Dad, and my brother Kevin watches the beginning of Castaway (it showed again right after it ended). My Mom has taken a shower and I’m about ready to go to bed. Oh, and it’s 10:21 right now. Feels like 9 though. Grandpa, Dad, and Kevin are planning on watching Castaway until the plane crashes, and then it’s time to snooze. Zzzzzzzzz…

And there you have it. My day in a nicely organized bulleted list. And I managed to make a reasonably long post today. Oh my gosh! Now Grandpa, Dad, and Kevin are watching this thing about these animals attacking! And there’s this woman who was attacked by a cat in a drug store! OH! SO GRAPHIC!!! I’m mentally scarred now. So good night!

I Love RSS

The cool thing about RSS and Atom feeds is that you can easily get info from many sites at once and read them all like articles of a newspaper. It's all there, clean and simple. For my RSS feeds, I use Google Reader, which is really reliable and easy to use. I've subscribed to 11 sites, and in case you're interested, here they are:

  • Discovery News - Space
  • Engadget
  • Giveaway of the Day
  • Good-Tutorials.com: Newest Tutorials
  • Lifehack.org
  • Lifehacker
  • MAKE Magazine
  • Official Google Blog
  • Photoshop Tutorials
  • TechCrunch
  • The Show with ZeFrank (no longer active)

Tada! So I'm still adding to my library starred stuff that I think is cool, and you can find the newest ten items in the sidebar where it says "Kyle's RSS Finds." Or you can subscribe to the feed at http://www.google.com/reader/public/atom/user/00023257290211230434/state/com.google/starred. My old method was rarely used and only had about 100 items, but my starred items list is HUGE. Like in the 5,000 huge. So you can surf all that right there. Be happy.

Yes, I Know It's Late

Don't fret! I haven't forgotten you! I've just been unbelievably busy with the new trimester at school. I'm starting a new resolution: post once a day. It's gonna be anything, and I've found some nice blog ideas that will kickstart this blog into the untimate gathering of awesome info. So I'm going through this list of blog ideas one by one.

So because it's 11 at night I'm gonna have you leave you hanging. It will start tomorrow though! I promise!

A few days ago I went to my neighbor's house to try out the Wii for the first time. I have to say it was an interesting experinece, first playing bowling on Wii Sports, and I now have that urge in the back of my head to ahve my own Wii. But when I woke up the next day, my arm was very tired. I exercised a lot in that boxing game, got all sweaty, watched Kristina play Zelda expertly while I drank some water...so I think it's a great way to exercise. Really. I mean Dance Dance Revolution is fine, but your feet under certain conditions will start to stink. The wii is...more ergonomic and family-oriented. I like that in a console. Simple, instinctive, and doesn't require remembering which button does which. AHGG! WHERE IS THAT "Z" BUTTON!!!! NO, NOT RIGHT! LEFT!!! NOOOOO!!!

So say I were to give it a rating, I would give it an 8 out of 10. It's pretty cool. And because I have wireless, I could surf the Internet! Plus there are so many more features unlocked with Internet access! Ok. I'm done talking bout Wii. If you're hungry for more. Go to one of the following links:

Snow Doughnuts, DST, and other Illegible Nonsense

I'm not sure about you but I think it was a waste of time to set Daylight Savings Time three weeks early. Sure, in the evening the sun is still on its way to setting and 9PM has disguised itself to look like 6PM. But really, do we really take advantage to this minuscule change? It's still not really enough light to say, read. And I woke up that day feeling woozy, on the fact that I was actually getting up at 5AM and not 6 and was faced with the fact that I had an hour before the bus came to take me to that educational environment that is supposed to be education but really isn't because teens at this age think of school as a forced place to be so to make it less menacing they socialize, socialize, socialize. So DST...good or bad?

This morning I woke up and was glancing over the Seattle Times to have my eyes fall upon this interesting article. Snow doughnuts?!!? Snow rollers, as they are commonly called, is created under strict conditions when a hard layer of snow is covered by more dense snow on a steep incline, where it's pulled down by gravity and a hole forms in the center of the clump. It is still a little mysterious to how these doughnuts form; some say it's wind conditions too that can cause these snowy shapes to appear. These snow doughnuts will soon disappear, and will likely not be seen for a while, as they are very rare.

And that's today's news. I'm not focusing on government, and will most likely never will. So HA! Sorry.

So This is What Work is LIke...

My school had to do this thing called a "job shadow." It's basically about finding someone with an occupation you might like and following them around for a day. Of course, I'm the one who has the worst luck finding someone to shadow. So I reluctantly chose my dad, who works with electronics ands sells them to customers. His job seems simple if I put it that way in a nutshell, but really it's pretty complex.

  • He's always busy. He always has an order to fill and a call to answer.
  • There is a huge variety of things he sells. He's always checking inventory for cables, connectors, electric hardware, machinery, lighting, wiring, software...the list is too long to put here.
  • The program he uses to organize all the orders is not like something simple like Microsoft Word. Think of it as an interface like Command Prompt with a manual three inches thick. Really. I measured.
  • His inbox is stuffed.
  • There's a huge, busy warehouse next door with a HUGE variety of parts.
  • In the program he uses, all the stores in the different cities around the state have a three digit code that I believe he has memorized. Like 324 is the code for a store 300 miles away.

So that's how interesting my dad's job it. Plain and simple. I admire my dad for what he does. The complexity of his job is outrageous! And he's been doing this for a few decades. It's crazy.

I Felt So Happy!

Something really interesting happened today. I was toying with that Rubik's Cube in the lunch room when my friend Thomas comes by the lunch table I'm sitting at. He soon bets that if I solve the cube, he'll lick the table. The funny thing was, I knew how to solve it, so after a few minutes, there was a huge group (talk about pressure!) and I turned it the last time and smacked it on the table for him to see. Everyone was going crazy by then and Thomas gave the table long, good slobbery licks. My pride really showed there. Thank you, Tyson Mao. It's so simple to solve the cube now! But now for other things...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Just a lot of things going on. It's crazy-go-nuts as one of my friends would call it. But that's a whole other story.

I'm starting Tom Sawyer now in class. It's getting pretty interesting. I just finished with Chapter 4, and I heard a lot goes on later, like some sort of cave, pretending to be pirates, just your average mischief-making tweens going on about their life will all sorts of hijinks. So more on that later possibly.

Whoops. Now time for some sleep. I should hit the pillow and snooze like heck tonight. You have a good night too. I mean it. ;-)

The Insignificant Post

I'm going to a new school this September. I'm not moving, just going to high school. It's going to be certainly interesting to see a new environment to learn and live. And there's a huge variety of classes. But there's something that's been a problem that I'll have to face before July. I have to choose whether to take Honors English and Honors World Studies, just one of them, or regular classes. I'm in Humanities Plus right now, and I have to admit the loads of homework aren't totally unbearable...just a hassle. Plus there's this option to take a Guided Study class, where I have a whole period to do nothing but homework, read in the library, or just have fun. Whether to take that is also a question I'll have to answer. Ugh...so sick of these transitions. I gotta get this stuff off my mind.

So how are you doing? Well, you might not be able to answer that. Either this post is so old, you shouldn't answer it, or you're attached to a nuclear weapon with duct tape sinking to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean with a dislocated right shoulder and the memories of your life passing in front of you as you sink down to the unbearable depths of water so pressurized, it causes you to lose your hearing and your ability to inhale. But that second situation is highly unlikely, isn't it?

Turn Your Desktop Upside-Down!

Today I faced someting that struck me odd. I turned on the monitor of one of the computers at my school and I was wide-eyed when I saw that everything was upside-down. After doing some quick reserch, I found out that many monitors are capable of doing this. Even my laptop monitor.

Some computers when you hold down CTRL, ALT, and an arrow key will automatically rotate the screen display 90 or even 180 degrees, depending on the arrow jey you press. Sometimes you'll have to go into Display from Control Panel, the go to the Settings tab, click "Advanced," and find within there the screen rotation settings. This may be handy for tablet PCs so you can experience different angles of the screen in certain situations. Other times it's a prank.

New "Cool Site" Organization in the Works

The "Kyle's Huge List of Sites" page isn't working out, so I signed up for Ma.gnolia, a Del.icio.us-like site that's a little different. I'll soon have all the sites bookmarked there and then you can easily search through the handy tag cloud to see all the sites I've found, recent additions, and ones I haven't even mentioned on the blog. So get ready. Tagging to the rescue!

A Week in Sites

OK now this week's been busy in interesting. Let me show you a visual depiction of my week in SITES!!!

The week started interesting. We had a sub in Science, who taught us a lot about the periodic table. She even suggested a site that shows all the elements and their information. http://webelements.com/

We were learning more about the Supreme Court in Humanities. We had to find reserch about the Supreme Court from their official site. http://www.supremecourtus.gov/

I got to know a little more about the GIMP this week now that I've finally found the online GIMP manual! http://docs.gimp.org/en/

Of course, I worked off and on for photoshopcontest.com. Here's one post I did. http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/115702/lost-in-the-web.html

I subscribed to CNET Download.com and found this interesting program...a free open-source vector program called Inkscape. It's found here at http://www.download.com/Inkscape/3000-2192_4-10527268.html?tag=lst-0-1 and at http://www.inkscape.org/.

So that about does it for new discoveries and stuff. I noticed I have about 0 visitors, and I'm getting a little worried. Hasn't anyone stumbled across my blog yet? I sure hope so. I have a lot to share with you. So if you're reading this, thanks and tell your friends.

The Physics of Classroom Behavior

Substitute teachers always get the dirty work. They have to deal with those students that dislike their ways, want to do what they want, and just plain goof off. I saw this in vibrant colors yesterday. Our science teacher was gone and is for the whole week. So we have a sub that I would have to say is pretty impressive. She's well-experienced in the curriculum and knows what she's doing. But the trouble students make the whole experience miserable.

I don't know what they're thinking when they talk back or walk out of class without saying a word, but it's gruesome to see them corrected by the sub. But there's something unfortunate these teachers face: if they fairly punish a student, that student is going to hate that teacher and think she's the worst in the world. There are other regular teachers that many friends I know dislike. But I like them because if I listen and behave, it can be a very worthwhile experience.

Some teachers have their own format of getting things done. And when that conflicts with the ways of students, hatred stirs. I know no fellow classmates that get thorough that "Wait a minute!!!" moment. They never think "Maybe I should sit down, shut my yap, and listen to what she has to say. I just might learn something." They're caught up in socializing and exercising the jaw muscles (chewing gum). It's not that I hate these people. I just think that they're wasting my time and the teacher's time, and that should be corrected.

We have a room in our school called the BLC. It stands for the Behavior Learning Center. Some call it "Bad Little Children." But there's nothing really bad about it at all. Many that I know who are sent to the BLC on the regular basis like it there, and are friends with the teacher who supervises the "Bad Little Children." They want to go there to get away from this teacher that seems to be so unfair. But I saw something different yesterday. One of the student in the science class was really making it clear to everyone that she hated this teacher. She actually said to the sub "Can I please go to the BLC?" I was thinking the sub would say "No, you can go to the principals office." But she said "No, you're just going to sit here in the front and not go anywhere." Wow was I off. And it made sense too. The BLC was evolving into a ticket out of education.

But still, is there a way for these students to "see the light?" Of course there is. But the brilliant minds of the school district haven't thought of it yet. I'm thinking right now what would be a good way to do this. Boot them out of school after three times misbehaving? Yes, we also have punishments like lunchroom cleanup and suspension. No real detention at this school. I guess we'll just have to wait for someone to figure things out. Or else.

The Curse of the Rubik's Cube

I wake up from my long pleasuring sleep to my mother. She's waking me up for school. I sit up, and the object is visible in the corner of my eye. Multicolored and complex, yet simple once understood.

The object is my Rubik's Cube.

I don't know why, I've just taken to a liking for this little cube of color. Sometimes it seems like the hardest toy in the nation, and then there are those "Aha!" moments when I understand that turning this way and that swaps these two colors. But there are 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 ways for a cube to be configured.

But there is a way to learn to solve the cube every time. And once practices it can be accomplished in five minutes. Yes, it's possible for YOU to do it. No kidding.

Just go to this site. It's has step by step videos with Tyson Mao, a Rubik's Cube wizard. And once you've aquainted youself with this "cheat code," you can test your wits on the online version.

OK, enough with Rubiks. Now just do it. Or else. Just kidding. Bye. Hi. What am I doing? AHH! OOH! OgoshIgottagonow...

Filial Piety

Ok I'm taking a break from all the tech stuff and I'm gonna talk more about just cool things...not necessarilly on the computer. So no Familiar Friday for this week I'm afraid. I'm astounded by all the work I get every week...I've done as much work in a month as I would do when homeschooled in a year, which I was for 5 years actually. It was interesting, but there were always those boring moments that sneaked up on you once or twice a week. Of course, that was back when I didn't know what the Internet was and thought the computer was for Magic School Bus CD ROMs, but I soon found out about my horrible ignorance.

I suppose you may be wondering why I titled this post "Filial Piety." Well, last year I learned about filial piety when we were studying China in humanities. It has to do with loyalty to one's parents and sacrificing your well-being for their comfort. Back then, a boy would get in their parents' bed for a few minutes to warm it up or let mosquitoes bite him so they wouldn't get to his parents. It's supposed to show true love for your parents. Honestly, I think this was a bunch of good deeds taken to extremes.

So this "filial piety" thing hasn't left my mind since then. Just wanted to make you aware of that.

I have a question. Really. No. Yes. I'm formulating a list of questions for things that I just wonder. Some are nonsense, some are interesting. Ponder these:

  • Can one be a prefectionist and a procrastinator?
  • Why solve for x when you can solve for y?
  • Are you OK?
  • Am I OK?
  • Whaat makes a writer a good writer?
  • Can art change because of criticvs?
  • Why are lava lamps still legal?
  • What's with 42?
  • How do you control your dreams?
  • Will we colonize mars?
  • Do bumper stickers have any real purpose?
  • What is normal?
  • What's your question?

That's the best of the best that I have. Just don't use them. Only with permission for me can you. Sorry.

And here's something I've known about and have wanted to share. One of my friends told me about Charlie the Unicorn, a finger-lickin' awesome short movie by Jason Steele. See his site at Filmcow.com. See the movie here in Quicktime and here with Google Video. Download it. Share it. Live it. OK don't do that last one. That's just creepy. Oh and also, this guy is making a feature length Spatula Madness movie based on the short on his site too. AND, once that's over he'll be working on a sequel to Charlie the Unicorn. Yay!

Prabability, More Stuff, What?

Let's get right to business.

Weekly Tweak: only answer with questions.
This was an incredibly hard thing to do. I managed to answer people with just questions for around one hour, usually making sentences a question by saying "Did you know?" at the beginning of each one. Very difficult. I challenge you to try it.

Cool Video:

The link for this video can be found here.

This is actually a comercial for Bangkok Insurance. It's well made and has the right amount of humor in it. Just in case you're interested, here's their website. But I warn you. It's not all that exciting if you don't know Thai.

Sites of the Week:

Googlewhack
http://googlewhack.com/

Googlewhack is all about the search for "The One." It's all about a challenge to find Google searches of two words that only give you one and only one result. If you find one, you can submit it to the Whack Stack and people can try searching for it and see what they get. However, with all of Googlewhack's publicity, certain queries that once yielded one result not has fove or six. People post about the phrases in their blogs, articles, etc... And I promise you it is REALLY HARD to find a search with one result. Even "abandoned horseradish" gives you 108,000 results. So test you skills at Googlewhack. By the way, no need to sign up.

VideoEgg: A Sweet Site

I subscribed to VideoEgg yesterday, and jsut tried out uploading two videos. This site rocks, especially for those who want to get their videos on the web, but don't want to make them available to people srfing the web. The maximum length a video can be that you can upload is 5 minutes, and a video that length does take a while, but it's worth it for 1- or 2-minute clips. You even have the option to save it to Blogger, the service I made this blog with, or Typepad or eBay. Below I have an embedded clip from a project I was recently working with: backwards video. The full video is 5 minutes and had a whole lot of clips...some with towers of cups, some with crushing Magnetix scupltures...I'm planning on doing a sequel sometime soon. I started uploading my 5-minute video when I started typing this post; it's around 5/6 of the way complete. This site's sure to be added to my BIG LIST OF SITES!!! Hey, it's done loading. Perfect!
Here's that clip I mentioned. Enjoy...

What to Say, What to Do?

Another busy week...filled with new ideas, cool videos and websites, lots of chatting with my friends, and working on the normal load of homework.

I'm in desperate need of an mp3 player because I'd reallly like to listen to my music on the bus every morning to get a smile on my face and a tune in my head. You know how there's that one song you hear and you just can't get it out of your head? Especially if it's like a really annoying jingle? I hate that. But I really like it when it's a song I like because then it's like listening to music wherever you want, even while taking a test in class! I'm studying a theory to see if there's any difference to listening to a memmorized song in your head and listening to the real deal with headphones. This could be promising.

Let's start out with the tweak.

Weekly Tweak: chat with as many groups as possible while eating a pizza during lunch.
I successfully talked with ten groups today: five outside in the courtyard and five in the caffeteria. I just talked for like a minute for each group, taking at least two bites of pizza per group. But enough of that. I usually eat at my table of friends...Nathan, Scott, Alex, Chris, Henry, Ian, John... A new experience.

And now for two new segments for Familiar Friday: Video of the Week and Sites of the Week!

Cool Video: BumpTop 3D Desktop Prototype

The link for this video can be found here.

This is all about a new type of desktop interface that's based on how we organize papers by piling them into stacks. It also has physics, so larger objects seem to weigh more. Did I mention this is with a touch-screen? Additional information can be found at http://bumptop.com/
